River East Personal Care Home Ltd. is confident that our long term care facility is one of the most modern and progressive in North America and a welcome addition to our community, helping to fulfil the growing need for elder personal care.

Mr. Michael and Mrs. Irene Baron (R.N.) owners of the River East Personal Care Home, have provided fifty-one (51) years of dedicated service to the long term care sector.

Their journey began in 1954 with the establishment of the Baron Nursing Home in downtown Winnipeg. From there, they moved to the Arcadia Home on Mayfair Street. They were also involved with the Ocean View Nursing Home in White Rock, British Columbia.

With changing times and standards, the Baron's directed their efforts toward a partnership that founded the Maples Personal Care Home, which opened in July 1981 providing care to two-hundred (200) elders in a "new state of the art" nursing care facility. In 1993, they opened the doors to the River East Personal Care Home and remain a driving force in long term care today.Through the fifty-one (51) years, Mr. and Mrs. Baron have been actively involved in all aspects of their homes and ensuring that quality care standards are being met. Their "hands on" approach demonstrates to their staff, their values of creating the feeling of home and the importance of family. These values continue to be the heart of the Baron philosophy for care and make River East Personal Care Home one of the most exceptional experiences in long term care for those who live, work and visit there.
